an author's purpose

 I am working on an author's purpose. We learnt about hedgehogs in the garden it was informing me as well persuading me. I was convinced to have hedgehogs in the garden as they live longer and eat the bugs that eat our vegetables. So, the author wrote not only information but some persuasion.
